Tourism and Recreation

The R.M. is close to two provincial parks; Whiteshell and Birds Hill.  Within the R.M. are the Brokenhead River Park, Tyndall Park and the Brokenhead Community Centre.  Both Tyndall and Beausejour have curling rinks.  Residents of Brokenhead also have access to all amenities in the Town of Beausejour.

There are two forest reserve areas in the R.M.  The Mars Hills Forest Reserve covers some 5,000 acres and the Brokenhead Ecological Reserve protects some 100 acres of first growth hardwood – oak, elm, ash and spruce.  Also located within the R.M. is the scenic 18-hole Mars Hills Course.

A local snowmobile club dubbed the Brokenhead Trailblazers operates out of the Mars Hills area.  The club maintains a groomed snowmobile trail, which is part of the Can-Am Trail, providing a continuous route from North Eastern Manitoba to the U.S.
